His new friend wasn't fast enough for him so Bailey gives her a little push.
Breezer and Masque frequently shared a bed - whippet lovers know all about the "whippet pile".
Snow comes and goes, Bailey's happy to run through it all.
Dogs and people aren't the only creatures to inhabit our playground.
Bailey has been snacking on these (Alberta Wild) rose hips since autumn. He also snags various berries off bushes on the walk to the park, plus likes carrots and oranges - quite the omnivore.
Breezer and Masque together as always in their adventures. In this photo Masque is 11 and Breezer is 8 1/2.
Whatever he got into that turned him into a double-ended dispenser unit seems to have gone away. After a day of rest he's back to normal and blowing off steam!
Bailey was sick today but seems to have settled down. Late this evening he was looking for food again so we hope to resume play mode soon.
Bailey takes a break to contemplate the Rockies.

Masque and Breezer always loved to run and play in the park.
After that rest it's back to our regularly scheduled program: play!
Time to rest and regenerate , cuddled in with his favourite leather chew.
At last Bailey meets a "real dog" - one who'll play the chase game!
The other whippet who was part of our lives was the very awesome Brassy
(BIS.MBISS.Can.Sel.Am.Ch.Nasusa Raise The Curtain, FCh).
She's Breezer's dam, and though she didn't belong to us and stayed for just a short while before going back to her permanent home, she is forever in our hearts. Brassy passed on at the end of 2004 and is greatly missed.
This is the inaugural Sunday Tribute - every Sunday I will post photos honouring the beloved whippets who came before Bailey.
In today's post are little Masque (Ch. Nasusa Masquerade) who was able to stay with us for 14 years, and Breezer, who left us 6 weeks later at 11.5 years. Despite much effort we were never able to diagnose Breezer's root problem, the symptom was non-regenerative anemia. After Masque passed he would lie at the front door missing her terribly, we can only conclude he died of a broken heart - they were very close.
The day Masque died we found out that Bailey needed a new home. His arrival cheered Breezer up and as it turned out he's a great-great grandson of Masque's, so there is still a bit of her in the household.
Bailey cooperated by sitting still long enough for a portrait. It's been cold and snowy out so mostly cooped up inside. Tomorrow will warm up though, he's looking forward to running off some steam.
