Goodbye Sweet Girl

Pahdmi (aka The Pod) left us this morning. Thank you sweet girl, for 14 years of spunk, love, and keeping the whippets in line. We miss you terribly but are consoled by knowing that you are now with Catherine, and can run free.

No Bad Days

Bailey and Deva start off calmly enjoying the walk.

Being whippets of course means that sooner rather than later, there will be lots of running.

And naturally, where there is running, there will be a chase game.

Caught!

Bailey:"Ha! I'm still faster than you!"
Deva:"I'm not talking to you."

They make good use of the lounger to rest up.

Eventually the lounge act moves inside.

Making Summer Last

Bailey and Deva make the most of the late summer days.

The wet spring produced tall grass that makes the chase game more interesting.

Their antics are watched by a sharp eyed hawk.

Playing hard always requires serious lounging afterward.

Dead Bugs

How did they end up this way?

Deva ran circles around some slower dogs....

...then Bailey decided to make Deva chase him for a change

(Deva got that nasty looking gash on her face by running into something while chasing around in the house. It's healing nicely with application of magic lotion, she gave no indication that she even noticed it)

Extended chase games in the summer heat caused the dead bug scenario!

A Fast Friend!

It started out as a routine walk on The Hill....

... until we met a beautiful 9 month old whippet boy named Darwin!

Naturally lots of running and playing ensued...

.... resulting in tired whippets.
